With a dry spell prevailing over the State, places like Wayanad and those in higher altitudes as Munnar still enjoy favourable showers. The European Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) predicts revival in monsoon in the form of a pulse which is expected to break over Kerala in the coming week and traverse a southward up course to Central India. The overall monsoon rainfall till August 24 has declined 3 pecent below normal, as per studies by India Meteorological Department.
