Caption : Valluvar Kottam a giant auditorium, at Chennai the capital of the southern Indian State of Tamil Nadu, dedicated to the Saint, Sage and Poet, Thiruvalluvar for his 1330 verses of immortal Thirukkural, scribed on the polished granite pillars of the gallery . On the roof of the central auditorium is a terraced garden with two pools and behind it is a 101- foot tall temple chariot. Over 3000 blocks, the largest weighing 40 tons, were used in this re-creation of ancient Tamil art in the 1970s.
