Caption : The parachute and a recoverable capsule dropped from an IAF helicopter above the Pulicat lake near Sriharikota on August 19, 2004. This is an important qualification test for the recoverable satellite to be launched by the ISRO in 2005. A Polar Satellite Lauch Vehicle (PSLV) will lift off from the SHAR spaceport next year and launch a recoverable satellite called Space capsule Recovery Experiment (SRE). The SRE satellite will conduct micro-gravity experiments in space. A recoverable satellite will cut costs because the recovered systems can be reused.
