Caption : A view of Pallikaranai MARSHLAND once one of the largest weland in South India reduced its size as10 percent of its original size due to the extensive grabbing by realtors, states and central goverment institutions, in Chennai. The natural ecosystem which atracted several species of birds and other living organisms is now crying for the existace. Major part of the existing marsh land is being used for dumping of garbage by City corporation and pumping sewage from sothern part of Chennai city.
