Caption : AHMEDABAD, GUJARAT, 08/12/2016: MAHESH LANGA STORY : GNFC employee sweep card to Dehgam farmer cashless transaction at Dehgam, Gujarat Agro market as farmers in Gujarat can now buy UREA and fertilizers with a click of mouse as the Gujarat government owned fertilizers major GNFC has introduced cashless transactions based on Master/Visa and Rupay cards, mobile apps like GNFC APP and e-wallet SBI Buddy. The company has installed POS swipe card machines in around 1000 retail centers in Gujarat and other states in three days, more than 2000 farmers have purchased 28000 bags of fertilizers worth Rs one crore from the company's outlets. To encourage farmers to go for cashless transactions, the company is giving 10 % discount on fertilizers to farmers and additional 5 % to retailers and even card transaction charges are also borne by the company.
