Caption : CHENNAI, TAMIL NADU, 01/11/2014: The eternal charm of Kanyakumari, that is situated at the tip of peninsular India, and called Land's End, has always beckoned tourists. This ancient place, known even to Ptolemy, Marco Polo and others as a great port town, is the point where the Bay of Bengal, the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea meet. On a promontory is a temple dedicated to goddess Kanyakumari. Off shore are two huge rocks where Vivekananda once sat in deep meditation for a long time before sailing to America. On full moon nights, the setting sun and the rising moon can be viewed simultaneously, which is really a fascinating sight. The sunrise and sunset on other days are equally bewitching. Photo: B.
