Gopalakrishnan, in his third book, says that there are enough management books on leadership and how CEOs need to deal with their subordinates. But, there are hardly any books with advice on how one must deal with their bosses. He says that subordinates need to look at their bosses as ?customers? and treat them accordingly. ?The moment you recognise your boss as a customer you see him as a person who has certain needs and who may not be always rational,? he says. The book, distilled from Gopalakrishnan?s 45 years spent in corporate life, is written in an anecdotal style and summarises what subordinates need to do under four As ? accomplishment, affability, advocacy and authenticity.
