Caption : GUWAHATI, 11/06/2007 : ( MONSOON FLOOD WATER SUBMARGED CROP FIELDS IN ASSAM) Ripen paddy being harvested and dried by farmers as the monsoon rain water inundated their agricultural fields in Kukurmara village, 50 km away from Guwahati city on June 11, 2007. Assam is primarily an agricultural state where 90% of its population is dependent on their rice production. Continuous monsoon rain since last couple of days submerged thousand of hectors crop fields in Assam state. Water level of the Brahmaputra River and its tributaries are alarmingly rising, which is causing flood threat. The first wave of flood water has already affected Lakhimpur, Dhemaji and parts of Kamrup districts in Assam.
