Caption : B.LINE:Tomato prices have soared from around Rs 2.50 to Rs 18 a kg in Delhi's Azadpur wholesale market in the space of just a month. The country's third most produced vegetable, after POTATOES and onion, is currently retailing at about Rs 40 in the national capital. The spike is being attributed to supply disruptions on account of monsoon rains and the recent hike in diesel prices that transporters have passed on to consumers. Speculation, needless to say, has only added fuel to the fire. , in the Capital on 30.6.2011. Pic : Kamal Narang
