Caption : BANGALORE, 11/11/2009: The Painted Stork (Mycteria leucocephala), is a large wading bird in the stork family Ciconiidae, seen along with Pelican largest magnificent flying aquatic birds, at Hebbal Lake, one of the largest lakes in Northern Bangalore, on November 11, 2009. Painted Stork which was once very comman in hebbal lake few years ago, had vanished for some years in-between, and is arriving back in numbers this season. Painted Stork tropical species which breeds in Asia from India and Sri Lanka to southeast Asia. It is a resident breeder in lowland wetlands with trees.
