IIIT-INVENTED SOLAR CROP HARVESTER

David, project coordinator at International Institute of Information Technology, IIIT- Hyderabad, invented a unique world's first Solar crop harvest machine that works entirely on solar energy and has built-in photovoltaic panel of 200 volt that promises to raise profit of margin for marginal farmers. In a technological breakthrough, this light weight harvester ensures high level of power saving by replacing power transmission systems of conventional harvesters. There is also provision of pedal wheel to make it much more maneuverable. The eco-friendly harvester costs Rs.2.5 lakhs compared to Rs. 15 lakhs to Rs.22 lakhs of the conventional one.
